Every Saturday, 6.30am - 1pm. The Big Pineapple Market is one of the biggest all weather markets on the Sunshine Coast. It’s a blossoming and dynamic place pulsating with life. The fair competition between stall holders and their care for customers is what gives the Market charm and the draw card for thousands of people to visit each year.

The lively atmosphere of this iconic tourist attraction has endeared the market to locals for only 2 years; however it continues to grow every week with more and more people wanting to      build their businesses by promoting themselves at The Big Pineapple. The market is best known for its huge variety of fresh and local produce. Virtually 50% of the area is dedicated to the sale of fresh produce, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, chicken, seafood and delicatessen products. The remainder of the market is used for variety and specialty goods, with mid- morning being the most popular time for this category.

The Market also offers the original cane train which gives mum time for a coffee and the kids a ride on the train. A photo opportunity is available on the observation deck on top of the pineapple where hundreds of people take photos of their time at the Big Pineapple every year.  So why not indulge in some of the finest, handcrafted foods available, unwind and make a day to join us at The Big Pineapple markets…..there’s something for everyone!

The Sunshine Coast comes alive over the Christmas and New Years festive season, and one of the best places to see the New Year in is Mooloolaba Beach. Each year thousands of visitors and tourists flock to The Mooloolaba Esplanade to enjoy the celebrations, with over 40,000 people expected this year to enjoy the live music and DJ’s on the beach stage, carnival rides and entertaining buskers as well as plenty of street entertainment.

Mooloolaba has become known as the family friendly New Years Eve venue on the Sunshine Coast, with an alcohol-free zone being enforced to ensure that the Mooloolaba Beach strip is safe.  In contrast to the out of control revellers that are seen every year on the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast has earned it’s reputation as one of the best places in Queensland to celebrate the New Years.  There are two spectacular Fireworks displays, the first at 8.30pm for the kids, and then the grand finale at midnight to ring in the New Year.

If you are lucky enough to book your Mooloolaba Beach accommodation early, you’ll have a great view of all the festivities right from your apartment balcony!  So if you are planning your New Years Eve celebrations, put Mooloolaba top of your list for a great way to see in a brand new year!
